Maxccess Wind Turbine Access System to be displayed at Port of Tyne

OSBIT Power’s innovative MaXccess offshore access system, used by Siemens and Scira Offshore Energy, is to be displayed at the Port of Tyne on the 9th June.

OP has developed MaXccess to overcome the disadvantages of current crew transfer systems; the system offers a more secure and measured attachment between the vessel and the turbine and can operate in higher sea states. MaXccess can sustain much higher vertical loads without bow movement, in comparison to the ‘bump and jump’ technology currently used. In emergency situations, the vessel skipper can reverse thrust and immediately detach from the turbine, if required.

The MaXccess system is cost-effective, compact and is easy to mount onto existing wind turbine support vessels, with no alteration required to the wind turbine access platform.
